Summer Camp Staff – Bigfork ACES
Part-Time and Full-Time Positions Available
Bigfork ACES is seeking a self-sufficient, team-oriented individual to join our team for an 8-week summer camp program (with July 4th off). This position involves supervising children, supporting social and emotional growth, and helping implement a structured curriculum in a fun, safe, and enriching environment.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
- Check in daily with the Program Director for a rundown of scheduled activities.
- Engage with youth to promote social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude with children, parents, and staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise children during activities and lunchtime; report any concerns to the Program Director.
- Implement programming as provided and assist in organizing daily activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized environment at all times.
- Follow all program policies, procedures, and cleaning schedules.
- Ensure that all materials and spaces used are cleaned up and put away before leaving.
- Check with the Program Director for additional tasks or support as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role (e.g., after-school teacher, teaching assistant, aide, paraeducator, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to create a safe, engaging, and educational atmosphere for children.
- Strong understanding of child development and behavior.
- Friendly, patient, and calm under pressure, with excellent communication skills.
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 40 lbs and staying active throughout the day.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- May be required to climb, kneel, or lift objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to see, hear, and communicate effectively with children and team members.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Indoor and outdoor work required, in varied weather conditions including hot, wet, and/or humid days.
- Moderate noise level, typical of a lively youth environment.
ADDITIONAL INFO:
- Employees must be available for all scheduled shifts and should arrange personal appointments around work hours.
- Time off requests must be submitted at least 48 hours in advance and are subject to approval.
- Occasional duties outside of the regular job description may be required.
